Duriel Harris' book, Drag, is a compilation of her poetry. Since 2001, she has been performing with Douglas Ewart and Inventions, a Chicago-based jazz ensemble. She was named a Fellow of the Pan African Literary Forum, a weeklong workshop that was held in Ghana in the summer of 2008. Harris has been a guest lecturer at Sarah Lawrence College and Adelphi University. Her poetry has been featured in numerous journals and anthologies. She is an assistant professor of English at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.M. Ayodele Heath is author of Otherness. Creative Loafing describes this native Atlantan performance poet as "a lanky African-American man with arms that stretch and reach as his stories unfold." His poetry has appeared in Callaloo, the New York Quarterly, Crab Orchard Review, Mississippi Review, India's International Gallerie, and the anthology Poetry Slam: the Competitive Art of Performance Poetry. Ayodelehas been featured at such venues as the National Black Arts Festival, the Nuyorican Poets Café, the Turner Trumpet Awards, and TurnerSouth's MySouth Speaks television campaign. His awards include Atlanta Bureau for Cultural Affairs Emerging Artist grant; Pushcart Prize nominee; McEver Visiting Chair in Writing at Georgia Tech; Fellowship to the Caversham Centre for Artists, South Africa; Cave Canem fellow; Two time Southeastern Regional Slam Champion, and Top-10 finisher at the National Poetry Slam Khadijah Queen is the author of Conduit. Her individual poems, three times nominated for the Pushcart Prize, appear widely in journals and anthologies such as Powder: Writing by Women in the Ranks from Vietnam to Iraq, Best American Nonrequired Reading jubilat, Tuesday: An Art Project and Eleven Eleven. Her second collection, Black Peculiar, won the 2010 Noemi Book Award for Poetry.
